About the product

For what age is the baby nest suitable?

The STARSTEPS® Baby Nest is designed for babies aged 0 to 6 months. The recommendation is based on the average physical development in this age group. As soon as your baby starts to roll over or shows signs of independent movement, discontinue use, regardless of age.

What are the maximum dimensions for my baby?

The baby nest is suitable for babies up to a maximum length of 60 cm and a weight of 10 kg. Babies who reach this limit may no longer fit comfortably in the nest and should transition to another sleep product.

What are the dimensions of the baby nest itself?

  • Outer dimensions: 60 × 40 × 18 cm
  • Inner sleeping surface: approx. 46 × 20 cm

The baby nest is handmade. Small variations up to ±1 cm are normal.

Is the baby nest OEKO-TEX® certified?

Yes. The STARSTEPS® Baby Nest is certified according to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, Class 1. This is the strictest class, specifically for products that come into direct contact with baby skin. All materials are tested and free from harmful substances.

What material is the baby nest made of?

  • Cover: 100% organic cotton (flannel), soft and skin-friendly
  • Ventilation panel: 3D mesh for optimal airflow
  • Core: High-rebound foam, firm and safe

Is the baby nest handmade?

Yes. The STARSTEPS® Baby Nest is handcrafted. Small size variations of up to ±1 cm are normal and no cause for concern.

Use & safety

Can I use the baby nest at night?

No. The baby nest is not intended for nighttime or prolonged sleeping use. It is designed for supervised rest and recovery during the day, when you are present. For nighttime, place your baby on a flat, safe sleeping surface such as a bassinet or cot. This is in accordance with the recommendations of the AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics).

Do I always need to be present when my baby is in the nest?

Yes, always. Never leave your baby unattended in the baby nest. The product is exclusively intended for use under direct supervision of a parent or guardian.

Does the baby nest replace a bassinet or cot?

No. The baby nest is an additional comfort product and does not replace a bassinet, cot, or co-sleeper. Do not use it as a primary sleeping place.

On what surface should I place the baby nest?

Always place the baby nest on a flat, stable surface. Never use it on a high surface (such as a table or changing table) or near stairs.

How do I place my baby in the nest?

Always place your baby on their back in the baby nest, with their head well supported. Ensure the cover lies taut and flat without loose folds.

When should I stop using the baby nest?

Discontinue use as soon as one of the following situations occurs:

  • Your baby can roll over independently
  • Your baby tries to stand up, sit up, or pull themselves up
  • Your baby no longer feels comfortable
  • Your baby weighs more than 10 kg or is longer than 60 cm
  • Your baby tries to move out of the nest independently

How do I know if the baby nest is worn out?

Regularly check the nest for tears, loose seams, or deformation of the core. Discontinue use immediately if you notice any damage.

Maintenance

Can the cover be machine washed?

Yes. The cover is fully removable and machine washable at 40°C. Use the included laundry bag to protect the cover. Allow the cover to dry completely before replacing it.

How do I clean the core?

The foam core is not machine washable. Wipe it with a damp cloth and allow it to dry completely before use.

The STARSTEPS® Baby Nest is delivered vacuum-packed, hygienic and compact. After unpacking, it will return to its original shape. Ready for immediate use.

We ship for free within the Netherlands and Belgium. For orders placed on weekdays, we aim for fast delivery.
